A Good Night's Sleep

Updated: Oct 20, 2021

We all know life can be exhausting! It's been said that sleep helps with a lot of different factors that help maintain health. But what exactly does it help with?

In terms of skin health, new collagen is made while you sleep which helps prevent skin sagging. It's also part of the skin's repair process, so collagen is important!

While sleeping, heart rates rise and fall, which helps with cardiovascular health which in turn releases hormones to repair cells and control the body’s use of energy.

For metabolism, studies have shown that sleep deprivation can alter glucose levels and the hormones that are involved with regulating your metabolism. So sleep can actually assist with fat burning! Sleep is the perfect time for your brain to relax and for your mind to lose focus on stressful things. Getting enough sleep keeps the body relaxed and prompts calmer reactions to stress.

If you feel lack of sleep is making an impact on your health, make sure to visit your doctor. You can also try the following tips:

Exercise!

Reserve the bed just for sleep, and make it as comfortable as possible.

Melatonin supplements and teas like lavender and chamomile can work wonders at night time!

There's no substitute for rest, and coupled with one of our treatments like Bright Eyes or a Complexion Facial, a good night's sleep can make you look and feel 100% again!
